Exam Exemptions

Sackville High School will offer exam exemptions in 2017-18. Students in Grades 10, 11, or 12 must meet the following criteria to be eligible for an exemption in a semester. Each high school, in consultation with the School Advisory Council and parent, is permitted to allow students to exempt from one examination per semester.  Exemptions from examinations are subject to the following regulations as determined by senior staff in consultation with high school principals.

  • A student must have passing marks in all subjects
  • A student must complete all major assessments in the course they wish to exempt
  • A student cannot exempt any subject if they have more than 6 absences in any class. Explanations must be received by the school within 7 days of the absence.
  • A student cannot have any more than 6 late arrivals in any course
  • At Sackville High, any student who has an out of school suspension is not eligible for an exam exemption in that semester.
